PRINCESS LEIA AND HAN SOLO SALT AND PEPPER SHAKER FOR GIVE-AWAY – FAILED!
Can you imagine that the first thing I have decided to DIY is the give-aways?
I’ve thought of making a Princess Leia and Han Solo salt and pepper shaker set inspired by a cute cake topper I saw on the internet. I was so excited because I knew in my mind what I want to accomplish, I looked around for craft stores that would probably sell the materials that I need, such as big-sized wooden beads ( to be used as their heads ), small salt and pepper shaker ( which I’ve found at a store called Sunny’s and they’re actually on sale but I’ve decided to buy just 2 pieces to see if I can execute what I have in mind ). I was able to buy everything that I needed including a set of small wooden wheels that I can use as P. Leia’s buns.
Now, during the creation process, I’ve realized that this would be a grueling experience for me since I would have to make more than 100 pairs! To top it off, it took me hours to scrape off the inside of the wooden beads because it wouldn’t fit the shaker’s covers.
End Result... FAILED! Good thing I was able to control myself from buying all the salt and pepper shakers I could find.
NOTE HOLDERS WITH PRINCESS LEIA AND HAN SOLO AS GIVE-AWAYS?
Nah! Just a thought. Again I have to make a 100 pairs!, and I don’t think it would be practical since as far as I know people don’t really keep this keepsakes. Well, it depends on my mood.
WEDDING CORD-SUCCESS!
Yey! Finally had success with my second DIY attempt. Though I had a hard time finding beads ( I probably wasn’t looking at the right place ). I was able to finish it for a just a few days and actually enjoyed making it which ignited my liking to bead jewelry making.
I especially like the cross which added a touch of elegance since it was made of mother of pearl and the trimmings was gold plated. It looked suitable enough to pass on to the next generations of weddings in the family. Like an heirloom of some sort.
PRINCESS LEIA AND HAN SOLO CAKE TOPPER
For the record, I didn’t made this, but this is my inspiration. I hope to make something similar. Since I’m practicing a lot with polymer clays lately. I guess I can pull it off, eventually :)
SAVE THE DATE VIDEO
My groom is a die-hard Starwars fan and for sure there has to be an element of Starwars in the wedding and what could be the best touch but a part of the movie itself. It took 2 days to finish the rendering and though it’s not really perfect, I’m proud of myself. This is surely a labor of love. Isn't it cool!
